Another of life's mysteries solved.  :)  --But, if you clean off the knife on the second piece, there is a chance--a small one, I admit--of the jelly getting back on the knife after applying the peanut butter.  Then going for a second dip could result in getting a minute trace of jelly in the peanut butter jar.
